abstract = {MindMate Chess and English Adventures: Kindergarten Workbook is the first workbook in the MindMate Chess & English Educational Program, an interdisciplinary initiative designed to integrate early literacy development with the cognitive benefits of chess. Created for kindergarten learners, and first-graders who are not yet proficient in English, the workbook combines foundational English language activities with age-appropriate chess concepts and puzzles to support vocabulary growth, early reading and writing skills, and strategic thinking. As the opening volume in a planned series, it introduces a play-based learning framework that connects language development with problem-solving, concentration, and logical reasoning. By merging literacy practice with structured game-based learning, the MindMate Chess & English program offers educators and researchers a practical model for exploring how chess-inspired activities can support both linguistic development and executive function skills in early childhood education.},
