The buildings were converted from singular-purpose structures serving the Prussian artillery, the German Wehrmacht, and British occupying forces to today's highly specialized spaces currently used by the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Minden Campus. In view of the plan to use the increase of enrollment for an organizational and structural realignment of the Minden Campus, one would expect a sophisticated strategy for operational implementation in the form of a new campus building – a new approach that is intended \"to democratize production\". An adaptive evolution from Prussian artillery barracks to intelligent campus buildings has taken place. Without user participation, the opportunity to \"democratize production\" as a prerequisite for adaptive architecture was wasted.
