Research Profile of the Faculty of Business

The Faculty of Business at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences is a member of national and international networks (IBSEN, CintQoop, Campus OWL, it’s owl, GI NRW, and many more) and defines itself as a driving force for future topics in the fields of digital transformation, internationalization, and sustainability/CSR.

These three fields form the strategic cornerstones of the decentralized research profile and thus complement the university’s own research profile and strategic development. Within its framework of diverse research and transfer initiatives, the Faculty of Business addresses these topics along a broad spectrum of dynamic and innovative projects with regional, national and international stakeholders that radiate through high-profile formats and numerous specialist publications.

Each profile area is characterized by diverse initiatives and cooperations that offer room for the development of exciting topics in teaching, research and transfer. In turn, new impulses and perspectives arise from the profile areas, which at the same time serve as connecting points for competence-oriented teaching and drive curricular development.

Professors’ Teaching and Research Profiles

In line with this commitment to the unity of research and teaching, it is the goal of the Faculty of Business to contribute to the development of new national and international research and teaching networks and to activate synergy potentials. On both the university’s strategic and the professors’ individual level, these networks are the guiding principles for the scientifically profound and practice-oriented design of the study programmes.
