Abstract
We investigate how sensor data collected from smart home environments can be used to identify behavioral patterns associated with dementia and depression. We focus on unobtrusive, low-costsensors installed in smart homes. We calculate features such as room occupancy, mobility and sleep interruptions with the goal of enabling early, non-invasive detection of anomalous behavior (Kim 2017) to provide details into daily routines to understand individual care needs. Dataset: We use data from the CASAS project (Washington State University 2025).
