Research Service

Service at the interface between university and industry

The F.I.TT. team is the central point of contact for research, innovation and technology transfer at HSBI. The team has made it its priority to strengthen the collaboration of research and industry in solving technical, economic and social problems by offering a wide range and services, thus making an active contribution to regional economic development. International aspects, too, play an important role.

In addition to university members and students, stakeholders from business, public administration and society are our addressees. Not having their own research and development departments and thus being at a disadvantage in an increasing competition for innovation, small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, have the best conditions for using external knowledge due to their flexibility and adaptability.

Transfer includes both contributing research findings from the university’s competence areas to business practice and in turn receiving practical questions and impulses from industry. This knowledge transfer aims to contribute to an application-oriented and practical design of teaching and studies.

The F.I.TT. team’s activities mainly include providing information and advice and setting up contacts. It is not its task to plan transfer or collaboration projects. The direct partners in the university and regional industry handle these aspects.
