We offer you a diverse range of entry and career opportunities in a collegial, open-minded environment. Learn more about the way we understand ourselves as an employer.
Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI) is a place marked by diversity. An outstanding educational institution with more than 10,000 students and 900 international students. A space for reflection with more than 220 professors. A multiplier of knowledge, methods and values with almost 400 teaching and academic staff. And an excellent employer for people who would like to shape change – with around 300 technical and administrative staff.
We understand ourselves as a reliable partner in collaborations with business, culture and healthcare stakeholders in the region. For our employees, we are a place of exchange, learning and personal development.
Excellent conditions for teaching, research and transfer
Our six faculties – Design and Art, Minden Campus, Engineering and Mathematics, Social Sciences, Bielefeld School of Business and Health – guarantee high quality and excellent conditions in teaching and research. They offer our academic staff, professors and researchers the space they need. In addition, our employees are regularly involved in projects that are important for the university’s close ties with regional businesses and organisations. They benefit from ongoing transfer between academia and practice – and thus contribute to developing their own career.
We support our employees with many offers that improve their (professional) life. Opportunities for mobile work, research support, continuing education, health services or childcare: find out more about the benefits at HSBI.
At HSBI, we live and breathe sustainability with our sustainability programme Act2Sustain. It brings together teaching staff, students and employees with external experts and company representatives in working groups and sub-teams. With many small and large projects and initiatives, our common goal is to anchor sustainability in our daily actions at the university.
We stand up for open-mindedness as part of an initiative of the German Rectors’ Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz, HRK) that connects universities all over Germany.
Since 2011, HSBI has been authorised to bear the certificate “audit Familiengerechte Hochschule” (family-friendly university). We are committed to creating and establishing structures that make it easier for students and employees with family duties to harmonize work and family life.
Bielefeld, Minden, Gütersloh: three locations that reflect our university’s diversity. Look forward to working for an excellent employer in the East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL) region – a region with a high recreational value that offers diverse opportunities and is characterised by its large social organisations, innovative start-ups and family businesses with long traditions.
