How do I find the jobs that are currently advertised at HSBI?

All our job postings for academic and non-academic positions can be found here:

What does the application process look like?

For most of our job advertisements, you can only apply online. If you have found the right job, please click on “Zur Online-Bewerbung” below the advertisement.  Now you will have the opportunity to enter your personal data and upload your application documents. You can upload up to 10 files with a maximum file size of 5 MB each. As file formats, PDF files (.pdf) and image files (.jpg, .jpeg, .png) are permitted.

Important: The data you enter and upload will only be transmitted to and stored at HSBI after you have submitted them. Please make sure to not close the browser or browser window while you enter the data. You can be sure that your application was successfully transmitted once you have received a confirmation including your applicant number.

Our advice: Please prepare your application documents in the correct formats before starting the online application process.

Are there any job advertisements for which it is not possible to apply via our online application system?

Yes. If you would like to apply for a professorship, please submit your documents by e-mail or by post to the address specified in the job advertisement.

Which documents should I include in my application?

Usually, we need a motivational letter, your CV and relevant certificates. Depending on the position, other documents may be useful, e.g., work references, a list of your publications or proof of competitions or awards you have won.

How long does the application process take?

How long it takes from the application deadline until a decision is made depends on many factors. How many applicants are there? Is it an academic or non-academic staff position or a professorship? On average, it takes at least 6 weeks from the application deadline until a decision on your application is made.

Appointment procedures for professorships can continue for many months due to the number of committees involved in the decision.
