Wi-Fi and printing in the library

The university provides staff, students and other groups of people at the university with access to the IT infrastructure and IT Services of the university’s Data Processing Centre (Datenverarbeitungszentrale, DVZ). The most important IT Services for working in the library are linked below, more information and other services can be found directly on the Data Processing Centre website.  

Wi-Fi

In the library you can connect your mobile device to the wireless network which is provided by the Data Processing Centre. Students, employees and, if applicable, external library users from other universities may use the eduroam. Alternatively the BiFree Wi-Fi is also available.

Printing, copying, scanning

A free overhead book scanner is located in each library. Scans are saved to a USB, which can be borrowed from the lending desk.

For students and other groups of people, there are also multifunctional devices with which you can print, copy and scan. You will need a CampusCard or a ServiceCard from student services (Studierendenwerk Bielefeld). These prepaid cards can be topped up at student services (in the canteens or cafeterias).
