Gütersloh (hsbi). In the third week of December, HSBI invited international students from Gütersloh Campus to a guided city tour that was held in English. The participants enjoyed learning about the town’s history and Christmas traditions, even despite the rain. “The city guide’s perspective was particularly interesting as she herself came to Germany more than 30 years ago,” Benjamin Hans from HSBI’s International Office reports. He assists the international students on various issues. A visit to the Christmas market was an absolute must, of course.
HSBI has offered the study programme “Industrial Engineering” as a fully English-taught study programme in Gütersloh since 2024. It was designed based on the bachelor’s degree study “Industrial Engineering”, which has been running since 2010. The second English-taught bachelor’s degree study has been running since September 2025. “Mechatronics and Automation” is the international equivalent of the “Mechatronics/Automatisation” study programme that has been running successfully for 15 years now.

Currently, there are exactly 100 students enrolled on the two study programmes: 62 on “Industrial Engineering,” 34 of whom are in their first semester, and 38 on “Mechatronics and Automation” (all in their first semester). In total, there are about 570 students currently enrolled at Gütersloh Campus on 14 study programmes. (vku)
