Researchers and students are warmly invited to participate in discussions on the challenges and findings of research on (post-)colonialism and racism. The Research Talks will open with short input presentations by Dr. Sakina Faru, Dr. Charles Saanane, Dr. Hervé Toussaint Ondoua and Prof. Dr. Claus Melter.

Dr. Sakina Faru is lecturer at Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT); Post-Doctoral fellow at Vechta University and subsequently was visiting fellow at Hochschule Bielefeld, University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Germany. Dr. Sakina Faru teaches undergraduate and post-graduate students in Journalism and Mass Communication. Courses with particular interest include Research Methods for undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as Audience Research. She is involved in research and publications in Gender and Diversity, Journalism and Mass Communication and Cultural Anthropology and is member of Gender Desk and Matron of Peer Educators at SAUT.

Dr. Charles Saanane is a former academic member of staff at the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies, University of Dar es Salaam. Currently, Dr. Saanane is an adjunct fellow in Department of Archaeology and History, University of Dodoma. His main teaching and research interests together with areas of specialization include History, Archaeology, and Palaeontology (encompassing human evolution, dinosaur works and Forensic Anthropology). He is founding and Executive Committee member of Eastern African Association for Palaeoanthropologists and Palaeontologists (EAAPP). His research collaborations with international scientists have carried him as far as at world famous palaeoanthropological sites - Olduvai Gorge, Laetoli, Ngorongoro, Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park and Makuyuni in Tanzania including field instructions at Malema and Uraha, Karonga District in Northern Malawi.

Dr. Hervé Toussaint Ondoua is an Associate Professor at the Higher Teacher Training College (E.N.S.) of Bertoua. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Language and specializes in issues related to postmodernism, postcolonialism, and poststructuralism. He has published several articles in these fields. After serving as a visiting researcher at the University of Mulhouse (France), Ondoua resumed his academic and professional activities at the Higher Teacher Training College of Bertoua, Cameroon.

Prof. Dr. Claus Melter teaches at HSBI. He specialises in social work in the migration society with a focus on human rights and a critical approach to discrimination and racism. Also researches colonialism (German Genocide against the Members of the Majimaji-Movement 1905–1907 in nowadays Tanzania) and National Socialism. Member of Entschieden gegen Rassismus und Diskriminierung e. V. and the Bethel in National Socialism research group at Bielefeld University of applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI).
