Perhaps you've tried to quit smoking or to do more sports. But change is not so easy. How can we help people (and clients) to change? Motivational interviewing is an evidence-based counselling style to increase motivation for change. Do you want to know more and do you feel ready to practise basic counselling skills in English?

Dilara Varan Ozkilic is a Lecturer in the Psychology Department at İstanbul Kent University, a PhD Candidate in Forensic Sciences at İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and a psychotherapist. She worked as a Research Assistant at İstanbul Kent University. Her main research interests include trauma, dissociation, digital parenting, personality disorders, and criminal behavior. She completed a double major in Sociology and Psychology, and earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Bahcesehir University. She completed internships in hospital, clinical, and corporate settings, and integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing into her clinical practice.

Target group: Staff and students of the Faculty of Social Sciences
