We all know that childhood and adolescence are critical periods in terms of healthy development, mental well-being, and the emergence for the delinquency. So, how should we approach “abnormal” behaviors in children?
In this seminar, school shootings and their psychosocial roots and consequences will be discussed through real cases from the lens of clinical and forensic psychology.
Dilara Varan Ozkilic is a Lecturer in the Psychology Department at İstanbul Kent University, a PhD Candidate in Forensic Sciences at İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and a psychotherapist. She worked as a Research Assistant at İstanbul Kent University. Her main research interests include trauma, dissociation, digital parenting, personality disorders, and criminal behavior. She completed a double major in Sociology and Psychology, and earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Bahcesehir University. She completed internships in hospital, clinical, and corporate settings, and integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing into her clinical practice.
